Hi all! Karen here to pass this announcement along on behalf of my colleague Bryan (@bryanm), who's presenting a new Labs experience for you to try! 🎉

---

Hi everyone,

My name is Bryan, and I’m a product manager with Firefox. I’m excited to share that we have a new way to experience stories on your New Tab page called Topic Sections for Stories. This is available as an experimental feature in Firefox Labs on Nightly, and we’d love for you to give it a try and let us know what you think.

What it does

We created Topic Sections for Stories to provide improved organization and control over the stories on your New Tab page. Your stories are now organized into easy-to-scan sections like Sports, Food, Entertainment, Technology and more. Each section groups stories together so you can quickly find what interests you — and skip what doesn’t.

You’ll also see new controls to follow the topics you care about and block the ones you’d rather not see. This begins to put users in control over their content, so you can make the most of your time online.

How to try it

This feature is currently available in the United States starting with Firefox Labs 141:

  1. In Firefox, type about:settings#experimental into the address bar

  2. Check the box next to Topic Sections for New Tab Stories to turn it on

  3. Open a new tab, with the content feed enabled

What to expect

This is just the first step towards building a more useful and personalized content experience. We plan to expand the range of available topics and introduce better tools to help you control what you see.

We’d love your feedback

Once you’ve had a chance to try it, please share your thoughts in the comments below. Whether it’s UX polish, new personalization controls, content availability, or other ideas for how to make this experience suit your needs.

Thanks for helping us build a better Firefox!
